In Response To: Re: The Blake Effect (Ender) : Okay, I got the noise and color correct. I need the fade-out effect around
Yet another new layer. Fill with white. Set mode to "multiply". It should become transparent. Go into layer effects. Do an Inner Glow from the Edge (not Center), mode also "Multiply" (though you could try Color Burn and see if you like that better), and set the color to black. Play with the opacity, size and choke until you get it how you like it.
