: Even with the pictures, it's still difficult to find. I must have gone
: through the level several times before I decided to sit in that alcove
: until the door closed - only then did the door to the chip insertion slot
: open. This is not at all intuitive - not exactly an example of good
: mapmaking technique.

: What do you mean M1 on TC? With M2, Infinity and AO for the Mac, you can
: still pick up everything you find. If AO SDL doesn't let you do this,
: perhaps you should try M2 Win instead - and complain to the AO team. This
: would put you at an extreme disadvantage - this time through I have plenty
: of ammo to spare.

I mean on M1 on Total Carnage you could pick up as many of each weapon as you liked - it was sort of a bug I think, running around with 20 MA75s and half-a-dozen fusion pistols, or whatever. I just always think of that when I see an otherwise pointless, albeit nice in terms of realism, armoury of one type of weapon, as here with five rocket launchers.

: Not by my definition of a secret .

: Chicken!

: Why not use all those rockets - that's what they're for! One thing about
: DiaBD - it doesn't lack for rocket ammo. Might as well use it :)

Yeah, but again I don't think that would have been quick enough to do in the invincibility period - again, chicken, you could say :). But with those fighters coming in behind before you teleport, that wasn't chicken, just somehow I didn't notice them coming the first time through - had to go back there as I hadn't placed the first chip, and then found the extra fighters and there small hidden room.

: Oh, it's probably worth mentioning that going through that teleporter shuts
: down all the terminals on the level except the exit term. Supposedly the
: supercharged transport burns them all out. If you didn't study the
: terminals closely before, you'll be out of luck now.

: It's probably good to mention this now since some people may want to play it
: before we discuss it. There is indead a bug in Jaunt that crashes AO. I
: haven't been able to track it down and I'm not sure I can figure it out in
: any case. It's easy enough to work around, but it requires the use of some
: minor hang time - a grenade hop over a short wall. The down side is that
: you lose acess to that 3X recharger, but the monster ambushes are probably
: easier taken in reverse - except for one. More on that in a couple of
: days.

: I'm ready to tackle it again myself - at least this time I have enough fusion
: ammo to do it.

I find Jaunt an interesting level for that forced grenade hop as it stands - at least they give you an assault rifle at the start for it. As for the 3x charger, you don't lose access. You can always come back down from above - in fact I went up the other way this time - rocketing myself up to the platform above in the corridor behind the 3x charger rather than doing the grenade hop.

Oh well, I got through Sensori OverLord - I was on fists for most of it. Thankfully the drones, hunters and compilers are all basic with fists ... the troopers caused more trouble. But thanfully I had a bit of fusion left to shoot that one switch....
