With the SDL version I have vertical mouse movement inverted in the menu interface so generally navigate with keys. Also, re the themes, I just got the red text on black originally, but then downloaded one or two of the themes, before realising that these are shipped in the package but not seen that way from within - I worked out that they need to be put in ~/Application Support/AlephOne/Themes to show up in the menus. After that it looks quite nice :).
