Most players online use the stable release.

They should actually be built into the nightlies now. I have some changes to check in today which should trigger another build, we'll see if they're in there.

Are you talking aout the SDL build? The menus there should resemble marathon 2's interface. If you don't like them, you can download a theme from http://sf.net/projects/marathon (supporting files).
Sadly, nobody has made an Aqua theme yet. I don't think it should be hard.
If all you're seeing is colored text and no Marathon 2 graphics for the menus, then your theme is set up wrong. The location of the theme is in your Aleph One Preferences file.

It should work in the NIBs build. Unfortunately, the way that key works in SDL is controlled by the SDL library.

Remember, the NIBs build is the official OS X build, not SDL, for a reason :)
