: Didn't have the water and light/dark trap that M2 has in that one room. The

Sounds like I need to go back and play the M1 version! It would be really neet now that M1 has been ported to A1 to go back and restore the M1 baddies in the M2 version. Maybe once the MMMG has finished EMR X?

: And is it just me, or are the M1 S'pht somehow much more deadly than their M2
: counterparts? M1 Troopers too, though I think that's a given.

I think the M1 S'pht are just a lot more intimidating to begin with. The M1 vs. M2 physics also makes a big difference. The player has much more inertia in M1, making it much more difficult to dodge the compiler bolts. I used to think the troopers were deadlier, too, until John Sumner let us in on his vidmaster secret - always circle the M1 troopers in a clockwise direction - the bullets will never hit you.
