: Is somebody willing to walk me through the process of compiling the current
: code for the OS X version of AO? I've subscribed to the sourceforge
: forums, but my account isn't activated yet and there doesn't seem to be
: much going on there anyway (many questions but few answers). I know there
: are still people who know how to do this, since the latest nightly build
: is only three weeks old.
You might want to contact Speaker-to-Animals, aka Alexander Strange. He used to post here frequently, but hasn't in recent months. He was/is involved with AO and could probably help you through this.
BTW, I'm not sure if it was from him or from someone else on the forum, but the only reason Mark's changes haven't been incorporated into the main build of AO yet is that they are not fully SDL-compatible. Until they can find the time to make these changes truly cross-platform, they aren't going to be added. Not to discourage you, Chris, and no one wants to see Rubicon X completed than I, but a lot of the people playing Marathon these days are on PC's. You only need read the forum to see that. Once you find out how to compile AO, you might want to ask for someone here to work on the PC version, too.
