In Response To: Eternal Volunteers: Eat S'pht and Die (blake37)

Not a bad review. I never thought about flying out the window - pretty cool trick. For those of us who remained Lh'owon-bound, however, it's helpful to note that if you fail to take out the monsters now, they can shoot at you from the same window later. Also note that as you hop from room-to-room via teleporters, the PB and recharge are in different rooms, so be careful about saving if you're low on health.

The first terminal has a very curious tidbit - next to the intro text from K'hal'in is Hathor's login symbol! But hadn't we killed Hathor?!!! This could be very telling.

I also like this level a lot. It's a bit symmetric, but the S'pht seem to like both elements of symmetry and asymmetry as evidenced by several M2 levels. The method of chosing which branch to follow next is extremely straight-forward on this level, and there is no time limit involved. If the player continues along following the instructions on the terminals, they will proceed to the failure branch, which is where we'll head next. If the player comes to their senses and realizes that helping the S'pth now could be desasterous, they need to find another way. Proceed back to the open area and a new teleporter will appear. This takes the player back to the Eat It Vid Boi-like area, where Lela has some very interesting revelations for us. She and S'buth, that is.

It seems that over the course of the last thousand years she managed to decipher the access codes to use K'lia's cybernetic junction. In the process, however, she discovered another voice - S'buth from the future, who became hitched to Hathor when she returned to the past. Just as Durandal merged with Thoth to create a more stable entity, Lela has merged with S'buth and the result is a very knowledgable Lela and a no-longer-mad S'buth. They have been to the future and learned how to escape the universe entirely. They have met the Jjaro and even met Durandal-Thoth - a seeming contradiction with the Infinity final screen. Strange that they didn't mention meeting you in the future. In any case, they also found that the future in your current timeline didn't exist - you will need to fix it, but not before mindlessly heading down the failure branch.
