G3 Moontanning is time-dependent - you have a very limited amount of time to reach the end terminal - if you fail, you end up in the failure timeline. I can verify that it's virtually impossible on Total Carnage (my usual skill level), so if you just can't beat the clock, try dropping down to a lower difficulty level. Just be warned, however, that if you succeed, the first level in the success timeline starts with an ambush, so charge up first!
