: I've just recently acquired the game Marathon about a week ago from a

: in something such as Quake. The plot isn't just given to you before you
: play just so you can see justification as to why you suddenly decide to
: barge in with your pistol and then some tazer gun or melee weapon to go

: other than an alien invasion has occured and the AIs got screwed, but at
: least the plot still flows throughout the game and the idea of reading
: from terminals is pretty cool. But one of the strengths I have found so
: far to Marathon is that it has really got a great feel to it. The game's
: graphics are pretty good for its time (though I care about graphics the
: least). It may be a wee bit of pixel-clad, but what I like most about the
: looks is the fact that the environments and cool colors much more than
: compensate for it. It gives a really dark and scary feel mixed in with a
: sci-fi, starship environment, and I think that's much more scary than in
: some haunted house. Now if I could just get that background music to
: work... Maybe I should try more memory.

: Tournament) forum i've been to is practically dead, as well as lots of
: other types of these sorts of games.
Marathon is a complex novel (or trilogy of novels for that matter) rolled into a computer game.
