: Whoa Steve!!! 2:42 AM?!?!?!? I was in Marathon lala-land by the time you
: posted this!

I know. I just woke up a little while ago. I'm afraid being on sabbatical has caused me to revert to my habits in graduate school, when I typically started work in the lab at 5PM and basically had the place all to myself. Being in a hospital, everyone else kept traditional hours. This was back when computers occupied whole rooms and clock speeds were sub-MHz, so geting dedicated time on the old PDP 11/45 was critical to getting things done. Of course none of those reasons exist any more, but back then it made a great excuse for being a night owl.

: As for this level, I agree. Ordinarily, it would bother me to
: have to wait so long for the PB. However, I didn't think this level was
: all that difficult, so waiting for me was not a big deal. It does get
: somewhat tedious having to go up and down that elevator. The coolness of
: it though makes each trip a bit easier to take. :)

I actually did have trouble initially, but I definitely play less well and make mistakes when I don't know I have a saved game to fall back on and don't know what to expect - the reverse of people who get cocky and walk into an ambush. Once I got upstairs, however, I actually never had to go back down - it was easy to eliminate the compilers and once I reached the PB and 1X recharger, why would I go back down?

: If you stay back, away from the Troopers on the walkway, they will generally
: suicide themselves or berserk.

I noticed that this time around, but in my earlier two runs they jumped down off the walkway while I was dealing with the initial troopers.

: Just wanted you to know that I did have to shoot this one. :)

I thought about saying something, but I fugured you'd do it for me, and you did ;^)

: Am I beginning to corrupt you with this "no ammo" attitude of mine?

That's somethig I've been working on for a couple of years, but you're my inspiration :)
