I have Photoshop 5.0 LE. I don't know about 5.5, but, one major disadvantage I encountered in 5.0 is that it can't handle layer effects. When I open up a PSD for Eternal in Photoshop, it tells me that it can't do layer effects, and alot of the things in it look kinda weird, quite different from what it actually looks like. I don't know about color tables, I've never worked with them (I only learned about gradients yesterday).
