I presume so, with perhaps an opportunity to switch timelines.

For one possibility, consider M Fell - there is one "optimum" ending, one acceptable ending and a few failed endings in which we lose, but are given a shred of hope that we can still go back and fix it. Of course fixing it in Fell means starting the game over, but that's life.
