Couldn't agree more. When I went to commercial art school, the height of plebeian ignorance was summed up by the uneducated utterance, "I don't know much about art, I just know what I like". Many times I heard my professors refer to that expression with huge distain. However when I left that school I was convinced that rather than being indicative of an uncouth toothless peasant mentality, it indeed sums up the true heart and spirit of art. You like it or you don't... and no amount of elitist snobbery can beat that out of a person, only make them afraid to speak their mind in front of the self ordained high and mighty.
