and halo could be like the "ark of the covenant". a religious artifact that the covenant were aware of, that contained a great power. they were merely searching for this great power (halo's destructive nature). the covenant were not aware that halo was activated to contain the flood. what i don't understand yet is why humans were considered evil in the view of the covenant. i think it has its origins with the forerunner. they have to be the ones who created this good vs evil scenario.
