Jackals no longer awkward to kill | |

In Response To: Re: Purposeful inconsistency (Ibeechu) : It's not just that it's inconsistent. It's that, because it's so different, : none of the appeal that the original Grunt had carried over. If they're : still appealing in some way, I haven't discovered it yet. Now they're just : annoying. They are extremely easy to kill which I suppose is a plus point. After that... ? Have you noticed that Jackals are no longer awkward buggers to kill? This is a first for a Halo game. They go out of their way to let you kill them. Their stumble animations give you multiple, protracted, opportunities to land headshots. Their heads seem larger and they present them more often. They just don't cover themselves as well as they used to. And the hit detection seems to work properly. There were multiple times when I am sure that I should have hit head or body in previous games yet, somehow, it seemed to register as a shield hit. Plus points for fixing hit detections. Minus points because Jackals were defined in my mind as the awkward sobs that always take more bullets than you expect.
