In Response To: Re: Halo Designs through the years. (kapowaz) : In Reach, if you tried shooting an Elite — any kind of Elite — with a ranged : weapon, they would run for cover as soon as their shields approached : empty. They'd duck, dive and evade. It made them a really formidable foe, : because you had to get a bit closer to take them out, which naturally : increases the personal risk to yourself. In Halo 4, they stand still. : Literally. I've killed numerous Elites of all ranks with the DMR (and its : various clones) just by repeatedly shooting them in the head, then once : the shield pops, one shot to the head and they drop. Only a couple of : times did they ever react by evading, and never did they seek full cover — : which meant it was still possible to finish the job at range just by : tracking my aim across. : About the only time they become a more difficult foe is up close, but even
Plus they'd actually dodge out of the way on occasion. And another thing, is there even any point to the Elite ranks anymore? Most of them are too same-ey to tell apart at distances greater than ten meters, and I've hardly noticed any difference in how much damage they could take. I know the intended effect is supposed to be "Look at how much stronger these Knights are!", but it's not working.
