I found them weak and uninteresting foes in : H4, and the fact 343i changed their appearance too compounds the issue. They do seem a bit more killable in 4 than say Reach. But then maybe it's only the low ranking ones. I've had some good tense classic Halo standoffs with high ranking Elites in 4. Ones where they harassed me and chased me and rushed me. Perhaps the problem is that Knights seem a bit harder to kill. I'll run up and punch an Elite in the face and expect good results. A Knight just seems so much larger (hunter sized perhaps?) and much more dangerous to engage at anything but long range. Knights get better faster recharging shields and take two head shots to kill vs one on a Elite. And the teleporting out of danger thing. In comparison Elites overall just aren't as powerful... But they aren't significantly less powerful that they usually are I don't think.
