I figure it'll be something like that. Whatever the reasoning for how their training works, I agree that gaming the system is a legitimate strategy. I remember playing one of the Armored Core games and having trouble with the Arena mode. The AI was so broken that even if you were facing a tank-type loaded down with the heaviest weapons, it would always somehow be able to boost above and behind you at lightning speed, and remain aloft indefinitely. So I would choose the parking garage stage with its low ceilings, then started the match by backing into a corner. The AI would stupidly hover right above me, letting me shoot it in the ass with laser cannons at my leisure.
