At least not without putting some serious time into Google and badgering Frankie. : Out of a studio that is 100+, the ex-Bungie employees are few and far : between. Can you name them then? : How much influence they exert on the direction of the game, and : whether that would even make the game 'better' is completely unknown. Maybe, but I would bet money that the people working on it are fans of the game and franchise, and not just people there to get a pay check. They care about it. It could always be worse my friend, it's not like George Lucas and Michael Bay are making the next Halo. Another that comes to mind is what Team Ninja did to the Metroid franchise after Retro Studios put so much polish into it (if you've played or are a fan, if not, ignore). The difference there is you kinda know what to expect out of a Team Ninja game, and I remember thinking to myself "Please don't make it suck, please don't make it suck, please don- AW fuck you made it suckkkkkkkkkkkkkk". 343 is a studio that we don't know a whole lot about. BUT, seeing their work on the motion comics and evolutions, I'm confident in their ability. : Wut? Really? Yes. I admit it. I'm going to buy Halo 4 no matter what (that may not apply to Halo 5). I don't know what edition....this could be the first time that I get the standard no-frills SKU. Either way, I still know I'm buying it because I like the Franchise. I like Master Chief. I've had a great time with Bungie's Halo, but I still liked Halo way before I ever decided to go to their website many years ago. : It's an action sci-fi game made by the same company that made Halo. I'm : probably in because I trust them enough not to screw it up. So there is a hint of doubt there I see? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm Still, that doesn't make me want to buy it flat out. What if its an RPG? I have NO interest in RPG's. I've played a few, they are not my thing. Sure, I could rent it and try it, but that doesn't mean I'll blindly go out and buy it this time. Again, I like Bungie, but if what they are serving on the menu is not my taste, I won't buy it. That is not a reflection of Bunige, just my personal tastes. Let's say Halo is a Pizza. With 343, I know that I'm still getting a Pizza. It may have some different toppings that I don't like (and can hopefully pick off) BUT ITS STILL PIZZA. With Bungie, I don't know that I'm getting Pizza, I could be getting _____(insert food you don't like). I SHUDDER, to think of the people out there that will buy Bungie's next game, expecting something Halo-y and then running to their computers to BITCH that it's not. I remember that crowd with Halo Wars. Idiots. Though, I'm sure there are people that will buy the next Halo just because it says "Halo" on it. You can kinda lump me in that category, but I consider myself informed on the subject. : On the other hand, I like pirates. And I can certainly be convinced to like : certain unicorns. : Pirate Unicorns ? Holy shit. I might just get it. ALL.OF.MY.NIGHTMARES. : But this is more like a restaurant that has a special sauce. Then they got : bought up by this big chain and their special sauce became a world-wide : sensation. But then the restaurant wants to go indepedant again, but to do : that they're not allowed to make the special sauce ever again. Then the : big chain sets up a new restaurant that serves the special sauce. You've : no idea if the special sauce is as good when it's made by this new : restaurant. Lol keeping in line with the foodz analogy, it doesn't matter so long as they don't change the core ingredients. Families pass down recipes all the time and a pie made by someones mother tastes just like it was made when HER mom made it. But, getting away from food, Halo 4 is NOT going to be just like Bungies game, they may be using the same basic ingredients, but they ARE tweaking the formula. If Bungie is truly as great as people say they are, any game they develop is going to be gold. Sure, they can't make stories about green armored super soldiers, but does that mean they can't make stories that still have that "30 seconds of fun" ? Will this next IP nail it? That has yet to be seen. Tl;DR I think you and I are just on two opposite camps for this subject. From my perspective (and I'm not saying one is better than the other, just different). You see more in line with following the Studio, the Author. You will follow anything they put out because THEY put it out. I'm more in line with following the product, the franchise. I follow the BRAND and I don't care who puts it out there.
