In Response To: Re: Weaponized Transhumans: Halo, Deus Ex, Crysis. (yakaman) : Can machines be lucky? Does the divine intervene on behalf of an AI? Is : destiny applicable to lines of code? Does any of that matter? : I was a little taken aback by the suggestion that the Chief was obsolete.
: Interesting read, indeed. It's a question of viewpoint. Are we obsolete just because we're "contolleded" by AI's as it is hinted in H:reach? Is power, intelligence and control more important than stuff like emotion and wisdom? In H:reach it's suggested that the AI's see themselves as protectors of humanity so maybe they see humanity and all it brings as something important. It seems that AI's doesn't need biological creatures to survive (guiltyspark) but Cortana still fights for the survival of humanity and it seems as if she really cares about MC, he's not just a tool for her - Him and the rest of humanity seems to be the reason to way she fights. They're a team, two sides of the same coin. The AI's might be in control, they guide us openly and behind the scenes but their plans can only be realized by human courage and self sacrifice and their plan is to preserve biological life. Well that's how i see it.
