The Reach engine & gameplay is : superior, but I have to admit I prefer space opera and read little if any : military sci-fi. This is a good way to define what I meant by 'magic!' This afternoon I played through The Ark and The Covenant and made it a point to read most of the Terminals (forgot about the one at Tower 2). I'd forgotten how much those add to the story, especially when Miranda is killed and you stop Truth. It's very much meant to be seen in light of the interactions between Didact and Librarian. All of that together has made this recent playthrough of Halo 3 really enjoyable. tl:dr - SPACE OPERAS FTW!
