AOTCR bridge descent trick and seven extra Marines | |

Two more Bad Cyborg movies for you, this time showing and using a descent trick at the first bridge in AOTCR, in which you cushion your fall by bouncing off a ledge then a tree then a rock (crouching as you hit the ledge and the rock). It's a trick I heard about back in 2004 (can anyone tell me anything about where it may have been first reported?), and for me it opened the door to a lot of novel fun as documented in my level 5 fun section. It's not the only method you can use to get down in single-player mode, but for me it's easily the best because it's the only one I've ever been able to do! After a bit of practice it's actually quite routine. BCM7 shows the descent trick performed after a short spell of carnage and a bit of set-up work designed to give you a handy checkpoint beforehand, so you can make repeated attempts quickly. BCM8 uses the descent trick to let you get seven extra Marines and an extra hog down below, giving you a squad of ten - which is a lot more satisfactory than the usual paltry three, am I right? In this play I'm deliberately getting down extra fast to stop any of the four Pelican Marines going temporarily inactive, and thus stop them becoming permanently invisble to the enemy. As a bonus, I also take the play far enough for you to hear the special 'hidden' 16-second all-clear speech from Johnson (which got a bit of comment in the forum, way back when). As usual you can view the movies either at Bad Cyborg (with full details and written commentary) or here at HBO. Appeal for help: If anyone has any links to other single-player descent movies for this bridge, or links to relevant forum posts, or informative comments, I'd welcome them here. I'm thinking of adding an extra section to my descent trick article to mention other methods and perhaps even give some sort of history if I can get enough reliable info. I know a few links so far but I could be missing some good ones, so I could do with some help. Especially if you're from High Impact Halo, or High Speed Halo. Or High anything Halo really…
