We could have rating systems for other non-Halo Bible material, : but that needs to be discussed on HBBO. It's an idea, though. Well I think you need a separate system. User ratings for content are great-- it gives you reader feedback and all that good stuff. What you need is a rating system where admins, either individually or singly, can determine a "canonicity" figure that describes the canon value for a fact. For instance, the fact "Halo 1 takes place in 2552" is 10/10, or 100%. There are no contradictory statements, it occurs in multiple places, etc etc. A similar fact might be, "The Master Chief's mjolnir suit is green." It is green in all three games, the games are primary sources made by Bungie, etc etc. In other words, there is absolutely no dispute about these facts. Then you have other items, like "A Covenant or Forerunner artifact captured by the UNSC was taken from Chawla Base in Boston to an unspecified location in Africa". The rating for this would be... somewhat less than 100%. There is only one source, but there are no contradictions. Its relevance to the primary source is questionable. No mentions of it are made in other sources. One might even develop a system for doing this in a completely quantitative way-- X points for each reference in a primary source (one of the games) plus Y points for every reference in a secondary source (novel) plus Z points for every reference in a tertiary source (advertising, promotional material, etc) where X > Y > Z. Then subtract points for contradictions; X points for every contradiction from a primary source, Y for each in a secondary... etc etc you get the idea. Obviously you only subtract for contradictions that are not retconned or otherwise explained; so, for instance, the fact that the H1 pistol doesn't appear in H2 and H3 doesn't mean it doesn't exist; the secondary sources make some effort to explain that, so the existence of H1's pistol doesn't fade away to canonicity zero.
