In Response To: Re: An old issue regarding what's canon (Narcogen) : Deny it. Why does it have to be canon? It's not Bungie. Unfortunately it's not that simple. Yes, they are being developed by different people but they have both had the touch of Bungie. It's not like they didn't have a hand in it or all... they've had their say and have helped with the backstory and history, etc. I mean, even a Halo Trilogy purist has to acknowledge at least some of the material from the books. I mean Contact Harvest was written by Joe Staten himself. This is why I have accepted ILB as canon. Bungie mentioned the planet "Coral" in Halo 2's Conversations from the Universe LE booklet. In fact the ship Apocalypso from ILB was mentioned in Dead or Alive 4, in regards to Spartan-Nicole's backstory, however tongue-in-cheek it was. (I'm of the mind that Spartan-Nicole is part of Halo universe canon, but her appearance in Dead or Alive 4 was not.) I think that what is canon is dependent largely on one's personal ability to digest non-Halo Trilogy content. That said, I seriously hope that Halo doesn't end up like Star Wars.
