: I wasn't aware that the specifications for a spike grenade on Halopedia
: included its mass, so I didn't make any attempt to calculate the masses of
: any equipment.

: Using the information (spike grenade = 1.93 kg), I determined (approximately)
: the masses of the different equipment units: Bubble Shield: 20.5 kg
: Power Drainer: 5.1 kg Trip Mine: 9.7 kg Grav Lift: 19.6 kg
: Regenerator: 20.1 kg Radar Jammer: 9.3 kg Flare: 3.1 kg Deployable
: Cover: 13.6 kg

: These numbers are inherently inaccurate for a number of reasons, but should
: give a general idea as to how heavy each of the units are.

: Just for trivia: assuming that all of my calculations are correct, the Master
: Chief should be able to throw a baseball at approximately 104.7 m/s, or
: 236 mph , almost 559 meters (just over 6 football fields). Try that on
: for a fast ball.

That's a neat experiment. Like some of my early articles, it was just neat to see what you could determine/deduce/calculate about things in the Halo universe.

Judging just by looks, my instinct tells me a Trip Mine should weigh at least twice as much as a Bubble Shield device rather than the reverse, but I still see how you went about figuring it out. :)
