(reprobate) : I love ILB and wish all of it was canon, but alas, someone at Bungie felt : that certain aspects of the game didn't sync with what they were doing. It : seems sloppy to me to let an officially sanctioned game like that contain : material which wasn't 100% official story to begin with, but Halo 2 was : being worked on so furiously up until the end that it's probably likely : that they just didn't have the time or manpower to fully supervise what : went on with ILB until it was over. I personally like to imagine that the : characters from the story exist still on the Halo Earth, even if Yasmine : wasn't a Spartan-II. But it was the same with the halo 3 advertising campaign, alot of it doesnt fit in with the game's story line. The only part of the campaign that i can see that does is the neil blomkamp videos (the only issue i have with that is the time of day compared to the opening cutscene of halo 3. The part of the advertising campaign which i was most disapointed wasn't part of the game was the diorama/believe campaign. I think you may find ILB was originally intended to be canon, but as the game developed the story changed to fit the missions and the time left to get the game finished.
