In Response To: Re: There's pie in that thar sky (Rockslider) : I'd certainly like the option of being able to battle without a symphony : coming over my intercom! Sometimes I'd rather go with a more realistic : feel, with just the sounds of the environment and battle. That has its own : aesthetic appeal. Music washes over everything, and in its louder moments : can be a significant hindrance, e.g. making it hard to pick up the sounds : of unseen enemies. There are places in H1 where it really annoys me. I could see why some people might like that, but really I think that wouldn't really be fair to Marty. I'm not saying he would be offended (which is somewhat outrageous) but after Marty goes and composes these brilliant pieces for use in the game, just being able to click a button and turn off all the goodness (though I understand why this might be a useful option) wastes a lot of time on the part of the composer. People might do this (obviously not REAL Halo fans) without first completing the campaign and all the well-timed moments that the music kicks in, or the way it subtly fades away would be missed (then again if it's so subtle then you shouldn't miss it ;)) Although none of this would apply to most people on this forum, I just don't want this as an initial option. Hmm, I have an excellent compromise. Make this option available after completing the campaign on any difficulty. There we go, problem solved :)
