In Response To: There's pie in that thar sky (Ducain) : I wrote up a little Halo 3 campaign wishlist. Give it a read, and add your : goodies to the list. : http://highimpacthalo.org/forum/showthread.php?t=22788 : JH Well, you must be. I agreed on nearly every point there. It sounded a bit like a "zomghal0 2 suxxored mek halo 3 lyk the 1st" rant, but I agree to that rant. And at least you weren't saying "Make Halo 1, but with extremely pretty graphics" because that's silly. You picked out what made Halo 1 great, for you and for others as well I'm guessing, and narrowed down what you wanted it to be. And what do I want it to be? Well, since you asked... Bring back the feel of Halo 1's weapons. I want a big, chunky massive smashing explosion from the Rocket Launcher, I want the AR to feel like it's smashing my shoulder apart when I fire it. I want a grenade to smash, flash and bang with an almost horrible fury to behold, where the damage doesn't just launch me into the air, it throws me into the air, blind from the pain and disoriented by the dust. When a rocket whirs past me, I don't want the ground to shake a little bit, then return to how it was. I want chunks of earth flying up, dust and grass incinerated and blown in the wind. And when that massive chaingun on the back of the Warthog starts up, I don't want a small buzzing. I want a massive, screen shaking, controller vibrating, pants wetting feeling as those massive bullets mow down the Covenant bastards. Lose the remote control car feel of the vehicles. Remember in Halo 1, how piloting the Ghost took a considerable amount of skill? It took a bit to speed up, and it didn't change direction in a hurry. This new Ghost stops and starts on a dime, and now anybody can drive one effectively. Even me. Remember the fishtailing Warthog, that felt like it had a a real weight, a real massive vehicle behind it? Revving that thing up felt the business, it felt like you had real power. Keep the damage, if you must. Just bring back the meat. More Marines. Please. Anybody? Rockslider sure knows how great it feels to be fighting side by side with a mass of Marines, shouting curses and flinging grenades like nobodys business. Damn, but was that fun. Amp up their aggression, make them more effective, and I swear I will never insult Halo's AI ever again. Bring back the pack. Kill an Elite, the Grunts panic. Enemies should have some character, something to make them stand out. Not just generic alien bastard number 3. Well, that's all for now. I'm sure I have more to say, but I honestly just want to go play some SC. Thanks for reading. Slimby
