In Response To: There's pie in that thar sky (Ducain) As a fellow campaign freak, here are some responses to a few of your wishes (I've put my own wishes in a separate post). : 1. Online co-op for campaign That would potentially make me finally sign up for Xbox Live! Haven't bothered so far, partly because of a perception that it's pretty hard to find a mature and intelligent gaming experience on Live. But it would be so much fun to link up for co-op campaign fun with fellow HBO folk and suchlike (if the game turns out to be good, that is). : 2. Wide open levels with the ability to play them through in numerous ways Absolutely! The potential is mouth-watering; I just hope Bungie's level designers are tuned into it and don't spend all their time concentrating on multiplayer. : 7. Campaign stats Personally I don't have any real interest in this, but if you WERE going to have this sort of feature, it would have to be implemented quite carefully, else the stats could end up being pretty meaningless or misleading. Crucially, you'd need a way of switching off stat-tracking, for the times when you're just messing around doing something or other and aren't TRYING to get through a level particularly fast or with lots of headshots or whatever it is you stats-mongers are interested in. The feature would have to be thought about really carefully, else it could end up being of only very limited use, and could even be an outright annoyance to players if it ends up giving a misleading appraisal of their abilities. : 8. We NEED a water level. What an odd wish. You into scuba diving or something? Can't say I've felt any need for a watery outing myself. Hmmm... covies and MC zipping around on jet-skis trying to drive with one hand and fire with the other? I'm trying to picture a Grunt on a jet-ski. At the very least, we've got some major comedy potential there! : 9. Can we have the Halo 1 physics back please? Ah, now I'm right back with you, and I particularly liked your thing about the chocolate chips. That whole paragraph was like how I felt about H2 in its entirety, not just the physics. They took pretty much ALL the chips out of the cookie if you ask me. H1 shimmered with brilliance and was so close to gameplay perfection, but for some bizarre reason many key elements were significantly reinvented for H2, and whammo, the magic was lost. Sniff... let's take a moment to weep together...
