good to see this has generated such a healthy debate....

if you missed Raigns's post i'll quote myself here:
"i still think it would be impossible to determine a 'normal' or 'Bungie intended' path for this game - sure some obvious parts might be the Uprising shortcut - or Delta's 'nothing but jackal' loadzone trickery

but, on Delta, are we to fight off the waves of Phantoms and wait for our hog, then drop the bridge, wait for the Scorpion, blast our way through killing everything along the way, wait for the Pelican to drop off more marines, fight our way through the middle structure, snipe all jackals, snipe more jackals, wait for the drones, kill them, go into the temple and finish off the elites - as Bungie intended

that alone would take 15 minutes - anything other than that could be considered a cheat

it's like this:
rules(game)clock - the rules and clock are absolute - everything in between is 'fair game' (except, of course, modding)

Bungie created a couple of amazing games - it is our passion to speedrun this game using every trick, glitch, shortcut, loadzone manipulation, intended suicide, over-the-wall out-of-the-level through-the-door through-the-glass past-the-invisible-barrier jump-off-a-cliff rocket/sword-lunging grenade-jumping pp-overloading sword-cancelling pressure-launching ghost-launching superbouncing crouch/grenade-sliding SWFing backpack-reloading and overjumping trick in the book - and then find more - this is HIH - this is what we do - this is why we're here - this is why people watch speedruns - anything less is just playing for fun"

and if you still think it's cheating, why didn't Bungie do anything to prevent us from doing it? - why is there not an invisible barrier surrounding the rooftops of Outskirts like there is on Turf? (and why did they put ammo up there?) - just go ask them, they like watching speedruns as much as anybody else - did they banhammer us? no they congratulated us on their Front Page
