In Response To: Re: Not unworkable-- just unnecessary (E.T. the Extremely Tired) : If you make the Flood spread all over the galaxy all at once, they will
: No offense, but logic is only good if you understand what you reply to. :) That idea makes even less sense than the original, and still doesn't answer the basic complaint-- why bother building an intricate technological device for containing something when the only known deterrent to it is over-exposure? If the universe has a "carrying capacity" for Flood it'd reach it eventually, why not just wait? What is gained by doing it all at once? If you're interested in non-Flood lives, the "sit and wait" mentality makes more sense, because even if the entire galaxy is doomed, more organisms would still have a better chance of living out a near-normal lifespan if the Flood have to spread across the galaxy piecemeal, rather than doing it all at once. And it doesn't do a thing about stopping the Flood from spreading elsewhere, to other galaxies-- which is the only logical reason for a weapon that kills all life in a given radius to be constructed, regardless of how it is achieved-- to protect life OUTSIDE that range. Creating a die-off as a result of an unnaturally quick Flood spread fails to address that concern at all. |
