The Gravemind is a malicious and terrible creature. He set up Arbiter and Master Chief SPARTAN-117 to be killed, he is in control of The Flood, if he were simply a 'misunderstood child' as you would have it-not a quote, but a general idea of what you're saying-then he would attempt to make peace with the Humans and The Covenant. The Gravemind may have been suffering, but he deserved it. For one hundred thousand years, he killed and absorbed The Forerunner. He has sinned, as he put it, but he is in no way repentant.

And if he IS, then there's no way Humans are Forerunner. (that was for mrbannanas if he reads this)
