He is trapped in his own demise of being smart. : He has nothing to live for he is just lost in time. I think i would agree with all of that, rather similar to N1NJ4's thoughts too. In my opinion i think the crimes he has committed are rather the crimes of the flood, the death and destruction they have wrought, he feels responsible, perhaps only for some if not all. As for the light, i thought this could be forerunners but im sure the flood killed more than that. It may just be a generalisation referring to everything in existence. Light symbolising purity and goodness, gravemind may see the flood as an unnatural species that should not exist compared to the other natural creates whom the light signifies.
