in order to make the arm move, all the flood needs to do is send a nerve impluse to the arm through the nerves. the nervious system in the human body all conect to the spinal cord and then from there into the brain. or brain sends all these signals which is why if the connect gets severed at the head you are instantly dead. if the connect is cut on the spinal cord, depending on its location you could be come parlized from the waist down to the shoulder down. when the flood attackes, it taps into the spinal cord. rather then having the brain transmit the nerve messages, it blocks off its connect to the spine and probiliy sends its own nerve messages. this is what gives it complete control of the body. the former owner of the body however, is still inside the head trying to send messages but the connection is blocked. so while the human can't send the messages any more, both it and the flood still get feedback, which means that the human will still feel pain and still be able see (nerve transmit the image from the eyes to both. to further back up what is in the above paragraph, lets look at jenkins, at one point jenkins was able to regain control. this is how: when the flood recieved the shock of the pain, it temorarly removed some of its connect from the spine to lessen the pain, however, in doing so, it weaked some of the blockage that prevented the human mind from sending signals. jenkins took advatage of that and his strong enough will allowed him to send a message to the spineal cord which let him gain control. notice how when you shoot of the head, it takes some of the spinal cord with it. the reason why the flood can still live after wards is because none of that section of the spine was needed. the section that they loose is the part that would control most of the important interal organs like the lungs. however, it has been show that when the flood takes over, it no longer needs those organs to live so it gets ridof them (makes it into tissue) and we already know that nothing in the head is used like the eyes, ears, tongue or mouth. they don't use any of the senses cause they have there own. (they don't use the eyes cause the elites head is usally drapped over its back. also as far as learning how the jaw works. 1) they don't need it, and 2)if they don't need to know how to use it properly.
