Indeed. I seem to recall a horde of thousands of them almost overrunning a collection of spartans in Fall of Reach, and they have no trouble with running over mines and doing other stupid things to save the Elites. I suspect, personally, that the Grunts may have ben indoctrinated from very young to be a cowardly, almost blindly serving race. When their primary purpose is to be bullet/plasma sponges and to generally do basic work, the Grunts serve best as a race with very little personal courage. in that sense, they'd never turn on the Elites or other bigger Covenant. Hell, even Yayap was terrified when he pointed his plasma pistol at Zuka's face, and he's a little above average in the courage department. |
