In Response To: Re: The Ark as the "device" from I Love Bees (altodarknight) : I Love Bees isn't part of the Halo story line. It was made up with the theme
Wow. That's really overstating it. Yes, Joe Staten has distanced himself and the Halo story from ILB to a certain extent, but I don't think it necessarily means that it's as unrelated as all of that. I read Joe's statments as saying, essentially, "don't expect Kamal and Jan and Jersey et al. or other specifics about Earth from ILB to show up anywhere in the Halo games." But, given that ILB WAS based on Halo and the Halo Story Bible (or at least some of it, as allowed by Bungie - which is to say more of the Halo story than is know to us) I don't think it's unreasonable to think that Bungie might have told the ILB creators that there is a Covenant artifact that gets to Earth and is activated alerting the Covenant to the location of Earth. In fact, I consider this the leading theory that explains a bunch of the confusion in Halo 2 (like why Regret shows up so woefully unprepared, and what/where the Ark is). And yes, it IS trout, but not all that unwelcome, since, in my opinion, theories based on ILB don't get enough respect or consideration around here. -Sep7imus |
