In Response To: Spec Thoughts Part I: The Crisis of the Sangheili (Marius Hamilton) You see, what it boils down to in the chain of hierarchy for the Covenant is this: Our society is run in a similar fasion. I supposed one could argue even that the Convenant is a society representing our modern day one, but that's another topic. Let me explain the Cov-Human relationships:
As of this moment we are in a war...propaganda is a very powerful tool in turning a tide of people to be eager to fight an enemy of the hierarchs (in the Cov, and in our society). It is obvious the Profits aren't the same race as the the Sangheili, or any other branch of the Cov fo that matter. So with deductive reasoning, you can say that the Profits have been in power for a long time. Essentially, the Covenant as a whole aren't intrested in the humans, but the hierarchs creating propaganda and paranoia that SPREADS to the Cov society. (Bushes vindetta and terroism?) Also, try not to take everything in the stroy so literal, this can only cause more gray questions. You asked if the there were demons? No, this was just a label stuck on the Master Cheif and other humans for that matter. The Cov have been very successful in rising to power, and essentially exterminating everyone who opposes. This is a very big similarity with Hitler's Reigme. Don't expect Halo 3 to answer any questions, for it only create more. If I were you I would research the story of Marathon, and great game created before Halo and some ties to it some beleive. I do beleive that, there are ALOT of strange similarities... As for intrest in the humans though, it's no REAL intrest. The Profits are just really confused onto why an enemy hasn't fallen yet, and think that they are missing somthing. I could go on about this alot, and I apologize for the unorganized approach on answering some questions. There was alot asked, and maybe one or two questions at a time would be easier to deal with. I too really love th storyline and am always trying to learn more. I would like to discuss this or the Marathon stroy more, so I'll try to remain active on this site.
