To be honost a lot of stuff makes sense, but the whole time travelling makes it all kinda silly. I really dislike time traveling in games and books/movies, becuase its such a useless way to change your story, and it's simply not relatable. Time travel in the future, sure, we ARE traveling into the future as we speak, thats not the impossibility, traveling to the past, physically is just silly. Sure we can record the past, so there could be a way coming we can record the past in whole, instead of only on 30 cm of cameralense, or find and amplify ancient light rays still bounding back from the second world war way out there in the universe or something, but physically going there, I don't believe.

Oops off on a rant. Anyways the obscurity of the artifact does imply that your theory is possible. I'd be dissapointed in the story, but it sure sounds plausable with all the facts from the book.

That said, those guys at bungie are only human, they 'might' have made references that could be misimplied, or you know. I severely hope theres not to much to the whole time travel thing, it kinda makes what you did in Halo mega-obsolete.
