They just pulled the names from : the same places. I wasn't referring to "directly" mixing the two series Alien Vs. Predator. But if you guys remember the Cortana letters were very cryptic in a sense, but never explained. It's quite common for creators of multiple intellectual properties to have similar themes in common. I didn't play through the entire Marathon series, but it seemed themes like betrayal were integral to the plot. Betrayal, for example hasn't really been touched upon in Halo yet, but if you'e watcted the Halo 2 Documentary, you'll noticed that Jason Jones hadn't ruled it out. I think maybe the choice in names are a form of subconcious foreshadowing preceeding the events to come...
