I'm pretty sure it had something to do with this.

Right or wrong, that's how Gearbox sees Vote-kicking. (I've never used it, or played in a game that has it, so I can't really comment past noticing what others say.)

Agreed. (I get this with All-Seeing Eye... but you're right, it's not a feature you should HAVE to pay for.)

According to some info Djof got back from the beta lead, this will likely be an option by the next patch.
