letters = pointers?

So I tried using the letters as pointers to the outside numbers -- but not visually. In the first glyph, A could point to the first letter (37/19 depending on your numbering), R to the 2nd (18 mod 8 = 2) ...

Using the "ARRIVAL" and "LCCTGLW" as the letter strings, and counting 12:00 as either 1 or 0 gives you four number sets:

037 048 022 050 025 010 011
019 025 000 013 022 004 083
062 025 000 022 022 080 036
075 011 006 113 002 014 018

I tried ROT-ing all four (mod by 26), but had no success in getting words to come out if it. I've also tried adding the number value of a letter to the numbers on it's glyph and then ROTing and moding the resulting values. No luck there either. I hope that at the least someone else gets some ideas out of this.
