There are a ton of Google references to shorthand, but very few of them show much. For instance, the Gregg system, the most common form of shorthand for most of the 20th century, is a proprietary system, meaning that books are available to learn it, but the symbols are not easy to find on the web. (For what it's worth, I managed to find some, but there was nothing that looked like G5's symbol.)
