I think Claude meant that the posters _posited_ their theories, as in, brought them to our attention (as in "throwing out" a guess rather than throwing their theory away), but those theories never got the attention they apparently should have for one reason or another. So it's not a matter of theories the creators actually tossed out into the trash. It's a matter of finding all of the theories out there (and _that's_ probably quite a task, since we basically would have to sift through _everything_).
