: (Dunno where it would stand in your argument, but the M2 Preview mentions
: that Durandal teleported the SO directly into a stasis chamber following
: M1)
The way I see it, in the context of Marathon 2, the security offer would have to be teleported onto Durandal's ship directly after M1, whether the game itself acknowledges this or not. While this works perfectly fine in the Marathon 2 timeline, this is still contradictory to what we saw in M1 and doesn't explain why we were still on the Marathon when Durandal had already taken off. If anything, the preview stating this contradicts the first game even more, because it's directly offering an explanation that simply doesn't work with the timeline of M1.
: As for the W'rk not escaping at the end of M2--who knows what the canon
: reason for that was. My own take is that it simply wasn't powerful enough
: to wreak havoc yet.
Perhaps, although the end of M2 takes place thousands of years after Lh'owon's destruction. Maybe it did take a significant amount of time before it finally destroyed the M2 timeline, which was what then propelled the story to segue into Marathon Infinity to remedy this event?
I'm essentially just taking each of the games at face value, and assuming that the information given in each game or timeline is how it's meant to be comprehended -- hence why I assume the W'rk wasn't released in M2 since the game doesn't acknowledge it happening.
