: If you don't mind teasing apart individual strands of wire and using a
: soldering iron, it's possible to splice things back together yourself
: unless the break is right at the plug, which is unfortunately quite
: likely.
Bleh, no thanks. :P
: There are actually a number of 3rd party PB chargers on the market, some of
: which can even be purchased from the Apple Store. They're not much
: cheaper, but some are considerably more durable. I have a Kensington model
: myself which I use for travels - it works off AC, DC and even on some
: airplanes, but you have to wait a few minutes when charging a depleated
: battery before the PB will wake from sleep.
Yeah, I've seen the Kensington one, looks pretty good actually. Maybe I'll check that out.
: Another possibility is to find someone with an old Apple charger - the yoyo
: design works fine in newer models, too - it just lacks the light indicator
: on the plug.
Seriously? I didn't know that, I thought the old ones were a lower (or higher) voltage so they had to change them. I'll go look around my house. My computer is a G4 Titanium 1GhZ btw.
