If you absolutely NEED to put the apology in the game, you only need two words: I'm Sorry.
There. That's it. It shouldn't be more complicated than that. Any more and it would be too cringey for her and anybody who just came to play a fun PID-like mod.
I had to learn this stuff the hard way. The highest state of love is accepting that you should leave them be. The movies sugar coat it. It sucks. Just knowing that you did the right thing for them doesn't make it suck less. Wallowing in self-pity doesn't do anybody favors. I'm shooting in the dark here, but my hypothesis is, what she liked about you was you, the real you, the you that was a companion, not an obsessive sop. Better to try to be the kind of man she would want (and more importantly, the kind of person you want to be) than to punish yourself.
Naming a PID mod after her and/or making it about her would be, in the words of one of my female friends, she might think it's creepy or odd. It should just be a good game for everyone where that IRL/personal/Freudian related stuff is non-existent unless you're looking for it or know about it already.
