Eh, I don't have access to the demos anymore, so it probably wouldn't come from me. Also the physics might be different for monsters, and possibly the shapes, so I wouldn't really be up for dealing with all that again. I could maybe look into generating the map layouts, since I think Hopper's xml had the demo levels in there, if someone wanted to take them and do something with it. The effort to understand the collections and stuff to place scenery and texture the maps would not really be worth it to me for small demos.
If someone wanted to make custom maps for PiD, I'd probably recommend they take the physics and shapes and take or leave parts of the lua that they want. Probably would have to rework some lua to make more sense for a traditional marathon style map. I'd probably cut the amount of possible scenery objects down to what marathon shapes allow, and only have a small subset of the items available on the ground (as many items as you want can be lootable from bodies). That way you wouldn't have to deal with a lot of the insanity I did. Overall, a project like this would require someone that understands lua pretty well.
Obviously mods like HD monsters or textures would be a lot more straightforward though.
