Yeah, the platforms on this level were generally pointlessly irritating, and the crusher door is just the best example of that.

I know exactly what you mean. The original Marathon really did a good job making it feel like you weren't the only one doing anything, and the later games also did that pretty well. By contrast, in this scenario you really feel like everyone else is just helpless – the only other sentient beings driving the plot are whoever is leading the Pfhor pirates.

I will admit that I'm a little disappointed as well. The scenario has potential, but since it scores zero points for aesthetics, and has only a superficial plot, it really has to ride on its gameplay – so when that gameplay starts to feel repetitive or, worse, irritating, the whole thing kinda collapses.

As for the MOACs and the MOAH, I'm pretty sure this scenario is meant for veteran Marathon players – if you've beaten Marathon 2, or even just the original Marathon, you're more than ready for this.
