I got the impression that the K'lia (ship in M1?) was like home to them, and M2 and MI is when the architecture started getting weird... too alien even to them (obviously there's s'pht ruins, and new palettes for pfhor ships, and the jjarro stuff, but the garrison we see is confirmed to have been built by them, probably using Lh'owon materials)
