Indeed, I'm at a bit of a loss to explain why we might want to revisit Vacuum Town, really. Although, hmmm, it does give one the chance to experience the first failed ending, if one happened to miss it. But given that it is the one we're least likely to miss, yeah, I'll pass. It never said anything about dreaming back the old path. Unless, I suppose, one took the hard way from ES1! Ugh, that would be SC2 style chronology, but at least this is actually with different timelines instead of just imposing great limitations on story development.
